Yokine

Yokine is a large established suburb in Perth’s inner north, in the City of Stirling, built around the Western Australian Golf Club and Yokine Reserve.

The housing

Post-war houses, many on subdivided blocks, with a large share of villas, townhouses and units.

Parks and open space

Yokine Reserve is the largest of the suburb’s 13 local reserves, with bowls, ovals, tennis and a recreation centre. The golf course and the Native Dog Swamp wetland add more green space.

Shops

Dog Swamp Shopping Centre and Flinders Square are both in the suburb.

Getting around

The high frequency 970 bus runs along Flinders Street between Mirrabooka and the city, and Wanneroo Road runs along the suburb’s western side.

Education

Yokine Primary School is on Woodrow Avenue.
