Shenton Park
Shenton Park sits west of the city between Subiaco and Nedlands, shared between the City of Subiaco and the City of Nedlands. It combines streets of character houses with Montario Quarter, one of the newest neighbourhoods in the western suburbs.
The housing
Federation bungalows and Queen Anne houses, inter-war Californian bungalows, and timber and iron cottages on the narrower streets south of Onslow Road. Much of the older area is a heritage conservation area. Montario Quarter adds apartments and townhouses, with about 1,100 dwellings planned at full build-out.
Shops and cafes
Onslow Road and Nicholson Road form the local strip. Shenton Quarter, on Seymour Drive and Selby Street, has a Coles Local, a newsagency and specialty shops.
Parks and open space
Lake Jualbup is the suburb’s centrepiece. Shenton Park Bushland protects 23.5 hectares of jarrah and banksia woodland, Rosalie Park is close by, and more than a quarter of Montario Quarter is public open space.
Getting around
Shenton Park Station is served by both the Fremantle Line and the Airport Line, and buses 27 and 28 run between the city and Claremont through the suburb.
Education
Rosalie Primary School is on Onslow Road and Shenton College is on Stubbs Terrace.
What is coming
Montario Quarter continues to fill out, with civil works complete and further apartment and townhouse proposals before the planning commission. The City of Subiaco also plans streetscape works on Nicholson Road and at Onslow Road and Hilda Street in the second half of 2026.
