Morley
Morley sits north east of the city and is one of the larger established suburbs in that corridor. It has long been known for family housing on generous blocks, and it has changed significantly with the arrival of the new rail line.
The housing
The suburb is built on post-war family houses on big blocks, many of them now being renovated or redeveloped, alongside a growing supply of townhouses, villas and apartments. That range is exactly why Morley attracts first home buyers, families and downsizers at the same time.
Shopping and services
The Galleria is the main shopping centre for the whole north eastern corridor, with a full range of retail and services around it along Walter Road and Russell Street.
The new train line
Morley station opened on 8 December 2024 as part of the Ellenbrook line, built in the Tonkin Highway median at the Broun Avenue crossing. The Morley bus station at the Galleria was renamed Galleria bus station at the same time, and bus route 352 connects the two. Direct rail access to the city has been the single biggest change to the suburb in years.
