The housing

Joondanna was built mostly after the Second World War, on State Housing Commission and private blocks. Many of those blocks have since been subdivided, so the suburb is now close to an even mix of original houses and newer townhouses and villas, with some apartments.

Parks and open space

Albert James Park, Joondanna Reserve and the park around the Roberts Street water tower are the main open spaces.

Shops and schools

Local shops cover daily needs, with larger centres a short drive away. St Denis School is in the suburb.

Getting around

Wanneroo Road runs past the suburb’s western side, and the Mitchell Freeway is a short drive away.

What is coming

Joondanna is in an underground power project area that is currently under way.
