East Perth
East Perth is the city’s riverside apartment quarter, built around Claisebrook Cove on the northern bank of the Swan. It was one of the earliest large scale urban renewal projects in Perth and it remains one of the most walkable addresses in the state.
The housing
Apartments and terrace style houses dominate, many with water or park outlooks, ranging from the original cove developments through to newer towers. It draws a steady mix of owner-occupiers who want to be near the city and investors who value the tenant demand.
What is on the doorstep
Claisebrook Cove and its boardwalks, the Royal Street cafes, Queens Gardens with its lakes and statues, the WACA Ground and Gloucester Park. Optus Stadium sits directly across the river, reached on foot over the Matagarup Bridge, which makes East Perth one of the best placed suburbs in Perth on an event day.
Getting around
Claisebrook station serves the suburb, the CBD is an easy walk along the river or through the parklands, and the free CAT bus network reaches the area.
